Frame: Focused Guided Breathing

What it is

Frame is a minimalist app for people who want to break negative cycles through common breathing exercises. Built around a single, focused interface, you can practice mindfulness and reset with nothing else competing for your attention.

The gap / why this exists

Let's face it, there's no shortage of breathing apps, or of apps for most things nowadays. But in a world where AI has made it trivial to spin up an app, craft becomes the actual differentiator. Shaping an experience with real design sensibility is still hard to fake, and still worth doing by hand.

This is my attempt to build that: a simple, beautiful experience around one concept, breathing.

What it does

The app is focused around a main breathing view featuring a single graphic that syncs with the breathing pattern. The shape expands and contracts with each inhale and exhale, and holds still through the hold phases, echoing the practice rather than just timing it. Haptics reinforce each phase change too, so you can choose to look elsewhere or close your eyes.

Since the app is simple, I've focused on bringing a handful of themes to the experience, so you can set the visual style and mood.

Why minimal, on purpose

Everything that isn't the breathing practice is secondary. The interface's job is to get out of the way: one focal point, one motion, one purpose. Insights, streaks and custom exercises exist for people who want more, but they are behind a simple sliding interface to ensure they never detract from the core experience.

Where it stands

Currently Frame is in the later stages of development, heading toward a TestFlight release soon. Keep your eyes peeled for a TestFlight link if you're interested in joining. I'll likely post it on Threads and X.

What's next

Once I've shipped the TestFlight build, I aim to gather and act on feedback in earnest, aiming for a public release by the end of 2026.
