Windows are the way we frame the outside world from within our living and working environments. For some, looking out can be an important part of interior design and high levels of consideration are taken to decorate these frames. For others, the chaos of the inner environment is merely contained by panes of glass as if it were a solid wall.
From the outside, the anonymity and disconnection from the people responsible allows for an intriguing photographic subject. Frosted glass and the rear of picture frames, all considered choices with a specific intent, raise questions of purpose, sensitivity and privacy that I wanted to explore in this open photography project.
